For a very long time I was...

...disturbed to find a dead cat next to my house. And even more disturbed by the suggestion that I put it in the dustbin.

....I am over it now!

Buna-ziua englezoaica! Sunt irlandeza :)

This comment should really have followed your 'what will I write about now?' post but for some reason it wouldn't post. Anyway, I'm a lurker for the last few weeks and have really enjoyed your postings.

Himself is Romanian and although we've been living together in Ireland for the last few years, he has gotten a contract in Romania (Cluj) and depending how things go, I may be joining him in October. So I've been trying to devour as much as possible about life as an ex-pat - and love your blog for trying to fit into 'real' Romania. You probably know that there isn't very much on the net so please, please keep posting! You don't realise how riveting even the mundane stuff is for me.

Eliza just ask the question and you will get the answers .

Thanks anon :)

Most of what I wonder about is about how I'm going to fit in and how quickly I'll learn the language and if I've any hope of getting a half-decent job. None of which can really be answered until I get over there I suppose.

I love this blog and a couple of others I have found because it gives me another perspective on life in Romania. There aren't that many books in English about Romania in this context and my Romanian is WAY too basic to pick up a real feel from newspapers.

newspapers are 50% reality and 50% bullshit like all the media in Rromania . i describe u Rromania in one sentence : if USA is the land of all oportunities the Rromania is the land where anything is possible .
